Notes:
Zovirax is to help prevent cold sores.
Allopurinol, vitamins A, C, D, E are anti-oxidants.
Selenium aids anti-oxidants.
B-12 and folic acid are replacements; I tested low.
Prevacid reduces stomach acid to help GERD.
Oscalprovides calcium to help prevent osteoporsis.
Creatine helps maintain muscle mass.
I tested low for testosterone; it helps prevent osteoporsis.
Tribulis increases output of lutenizing hormone and testosterone.
Testosterone is neuroprotective.
LH may be involved in the production of protective neurosteroids.
Pregnenalone has neuroprotective and mood enhancing effects.
Progesterone has been shown to protect neurons against glutamate
excitotoxicity.
Miacalcin helps bones absorb calcium.
Immunocal is an immune system booster.
Transfer Factor Plus is an immune system booster (bovine colostrum
extract).
Theragram provides trace minerals including 15 mg zinc and 2 mg copper.
I need a copper supplement with all the zinc I'm getting.
Doxycycline is a good med for infections which may be related to ALS
(in my case mycoplasmas), and it has proven direct neuroprotective
effects.
Actonel helps restore bone density.
Aspirin reduces chances of stroke and heart attack.
Melatonin helps with sleep, is neuroprotective, and is an antioxidant.

My anti-mycoplasmal treatment
See my treatment page for the results of my
treatment.
2 weeks - oral doxycyclene 100 mg/day at 0900
2 weeks - oral tinidazole at 0900
-day one - 500 mg (one capsule)
-day two - 2 g (four capsules)
-days 3 to 14 - 500 mg/day (one capsule)
2 weeks - no doxycyclene or tinidazole to let my body rest
repeat as necessary; I am doing 4 rounds
total 68# 500 mg of tinidazole, 56# 100 mg of doxycyclene
Tinidazole is available by prescription from Hopewell Pharmacy, NJ,
phone number 1-800-792-6670. Tinidazole is an anti-parasitic. Pfizer has
not sought FDA approval for it because they expect that the US market
would be too small to justify the cost of approval. Side effects might
be slight itch or stomach upset.
I read that rarely someone has a Jarish Herxheimer reaction to
tinidazole (or maybe even doxycyclene) which may be fatal.
Alcohol should not be used when on tinidazole, even an alcohol based
mouthwash. You may have a severe nausea reaction.
